As the Co-founder of Live2Serve, a non-profit, she is committed to leaving the world better than she found it. Excerpts from a coffee chat with her:

ON PUSHING PAST SELF DOUBT

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone," Shifali reflects, sharing her recent experience of signing up for the Mrs. Universe America pageant. She observes that women tend to doubt themselves a lot, especially when taking on new challenges. She tends to as well, but finds that the only way to break through is, “Once you've made a decision, just stick to it and push through. Just know that you're going to come out stronger on the other end."

ON REDEFINING SUCCESS

For Shifali, success isn't measured in grand achievements but in small, meaningful changes. "Every time I'm able to create a small impact in anyone's life or I'm able to convince someone to move towards sustainability, I consider that a success." 

ON LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS 

When asked about the top three decisions she made early in her life that still hold true today, she doesn't hesitate:

1. "To stop using single use plastic"
2. "To not eat any animal or dairy product" - a commitment to veganism she made decades ago
3. "To focus on health and fitness" - though she admits with a laugh, "I can't claim that I work out every day, but that's my aim."
